We are looking for a Communications Manager who will be on the forefront of the Company’s investor relations, employee communication, corporate communications, and global sustainability (ESG) efforts. This position is physically located at our global headquarters in San Diego, CA with the option to intermittently work from home.

In this role you will be responsible for implementing our stakeholder communications efforts through the management of internal and external communication plans that shape the Company’s reputation with its stakeholders. The Communications Manager will work closely with the Vice President, Stakeholder and Investor Engagement to provide compositional, administrative and communications support in the areas of investor relations, employee communications, corporate communications, and environmental, social and governance programs. (“ESG”).
Key accountabilities:
- Ability to think and communicate clearly. The candidate will routinely research, write and build communications deliverables to effectively communicate the Company’s brand, voice, style guide, and content strategy.
- Acts as first point of contact for all incoming requests from the media and financial communities. Responsible for triaging all incoming requests.
- Assists the executive leadership team in all administrative matters related to investor relations including preparing and planning for investor marketing events and coordinating investor meetings and quarterly earnings calls.
- Primary point of contact for all retail shareholders requests, answers questions about the Company within established parameters, and leaves all stockholders with positive lasting memories.
- Partners with VP to manage the production and coordination efforts associated with the Company’s annual report to stockholders.
- Manages meeting logistics associated with the company’s annual meeting of stockholders.
- Partners with VP to draft routine corporate press release, obtain approval for final copy, and disseminate via wire service.
- Partners with external PR agency to manage the Company’s corporate social media program including assisting with social media related crisis communications message development and execution, when necessary.
- Assists in the creation of employee communications including newsletters, emails, blogs, digital signage, presentations (and more!) that inform, inspire and connect our tribe.
- Manages external website content for corporate site (including investor relations site) and coordinates with digital agencies and tribe members to ensure web content is up-to-date, optimized, and compliant.
- Participates on the ESG Team and works cross-departmentally to support the company’s sustainability program.
- Partners with VP to manage the production and coordination efforts associated with the Company’s biennial ESG report.
What You’ll Bring To The Role

- Bachelor’s degree
- Education or experience in investor relations, corporate communications, public relations, or corporate sustainability (ESG)
- Ability to travel domestically 10% to 15%, possibly internationally on occasion
- Experience in a corporate setting, preferably at a public company
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Some graphic design and photography skills beneficial
- Extremely organized and ability to multi-task effectively, managing multiple projects while adhering to deadlines
- Be energized and excited to learn
