WD-40® FAN CLUB REACHES MILESTONE

July 21, 2006

The WD-40 Fan Club, whose loyal members receive free downloads, weekly usage tips, a monthly newsletter and a sneak peek at new products, now boasts more than 100,000 members.

In existence for only five years, the club's 100,000 members come from around the world, with members living in more than 50 different countries. As membership continues to grow, the WD-40 Fan Club serves as a testament of the love people have for this iconic brand and the intrigue associated with an online hub for lube lovers.

"Years of letters and consumer feedback have told us that WD-40 users are fanatical about WD-40," said Tim Lesmeister, vice president, marketing, WD-40 Company. "When we started this club, we had no idea how well it would catch on with our consumers - it has become a resource for valuable information for them and a source of pride for WD-40 Company. It's just stunning that we have 100,000 avid fans of this tremendous brand."

In celebration of the recruitment of its 100,000th Fan Club member, WD-40 is taking the opportunity to encourage fans to submit their favorite uses for and stories about the ubiquitous problem-solver. Uses and stories selected as the most unique, valuable or interesting will be featured in upcoming newsletters and e-communications, and on the company's Web site.

"We're shining the spotlight on the people that make this club as special as it is today - the members," said Lesmeister. "What better way to show them we care than to recognize them among their peers on our Web site and in our communications back to the group?"

Created in 2001 as an online forum for WD-40 users, the Fan Club gives members access to the product's official list of 2,000 uses (which features uses ranging from stopping squeaks on hinges and removing crayon from walls, to eliminating unwanted adhesive from surfaces and protecting tools against rust and corrosion), downloadable WD-40 screensavers and desktop wallpaper, the first look at new products, and more. Fans also have the opportunity to sign up for the weekly "WD-40 e-tip," an e-mail that provides seasonal uses for the product, and Fan Forum, the Fan Club's monthly newsletter.

Membership in the Fan Club is free. Once a member, fans can navigate the "Uses" and "Stories" sections of the site to submit their content in hopes of becoming a "Featured Fan" - a component of Fan Forum - or being featured on the company's Web site.
